The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball season came to a close on Sunday at the hands of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament.

The offseason moves have begun to flood in quickly as the University of Alabama hired Rob Vaughn to take over as head coach on Monday.

On Wednesday Alabama third baseman Colby Shelton entered the transfer portal according to Charlie Potter of BamaOnline.

Shelton led the Crimson Tide in home runs in 2023 with 25 as just a freshman. Additionally he averaged .300 at the plate while finishing third on the team in RBIs with 51 and drawing 33 walks. He hit two home runs in five different games.

The Lithia, Fla., native will be one of the most sought after transfers in the portal after his strong season. Not only did he lead the Tide in home runs, but his season was strong enough for seventh most nationally.

Shelton will have three seasons of eligibility remaining and will likely have his pick of destination out of the portal.

He was honored for his strong 2023 season being named Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball News, Second Team Freshman All-American by NCBWA and Freshman All-SEC Team.

Shelton wasn't the only Alabama player that entered the portal, he was joined by infielder Bryce Eblin.

Eblin appeared in 40 games as a backup infielder, he will have one season of eligibility remaining.
