The rich got richer in the southern part of the state as 4-star linebacker and Crimson Tide commit Sterling Dixon took to social media on Monday to announce his transfer destination.

Dixon, formerly with Mobile Christian School, will transfer to Spanish Fort and play his final season with the Toros.

Spanish Fort finished third in Class 6A Region 1 last season after going 7-4 overall and 6-2 in region play.

“They welcomed me with open arms but it’s going to be an adjustment period for me,” Dixon told Jimmy Wigfield of The Call News on his transfer. “The difference in 6A and 3A right away is the speed of the skill players is much faster. I feel like I can go out and compete and make them better and they’ll make me better.”

The 6-3 linebacker was looking for an opportunity to play against better competition week in and week out and playing in 6A Region 1 will provide that for him.
