Alabama Lands Commitment from 2025 In-State Edge Rusher

Alabama continues to add to its 2025 class with a commitment from in-state edge rusher Zion Grady.

It has been a good weekend for Crimson Tide fans. Alabama clinched the SEC West with a win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.

Roughly 24 hours after the Crimson Tide clinched the SEC West, fans got even more good news. Alabama lands a commitment from in-state, four-star edge rusher Zion Grady.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound edge rusher is considered a top-10 prospect in the state of Alabama and a top-5 edge rusher in the 2025 class. He was first offered a scholarship by the Crimson Tide on September 24, 2022.

In his sophomore season last year at Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Grady had 108 total tackles, 22 sacks, 27 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and blocked three field goals. Grady helped lead the Trojans to a 12-2 record, going 5-0 in regional play. Charles Henderson would go on to lose to Ramsay in the AHSAA Super Seven Championship.

In 2023, Grady has led the Trojans to an 8-3 record, going 3-2 in regional play. Charles Henderson is currently in the AHSAA playoffs again in 2023.

Grady was most recently on Alabama's campus on October 21, when Alabama beat Tennessee 34-20. Crimson Tide inside linebacker coach Robert Bala is Grady's primary recruiter.

Grady is Alabama's eighth commitment in 2025. He is currently the only edge rusher in the Crimson Tide's class. Alabama's class consists of two wide receivers, two offensive linemen, one defensive lineman, one running back, a linebacker and now an edge rusher.
