4-Star out of California narrows list to four and ASU is on it

4-star receiver adds Arizona State to his short list

Class of 2021 four- star Troy Franklin out of Atherton, California released his top 4 schools and Arizona State University is in the mix for the receiver along with Alabama, Oregon and Washington. According to 247Sports, Franklin is the number two receiver in the nation, and ranked 31st overall in the country for the 2021 class. Franklin had 24 offers and was able to narrow it down to just four he announced via twitter earlier today.

Arizona state has had a receiver taken in the first round of the NFL draft the last two years in a row. First was N’Keal Harry taken by the New England Patriots in 2019 and just a few weeks ago Brandon Aiyuk was taken in the first round by the San Francisco 49ers. It’s no surprise a receiver would eye ASU for that reason. Franklin told Brandon Huffman of 247Sports, "I like the Arizona State program a lot. They have produced first round receivers in N'Keal Harry and Brandon Aiyuk and I have a good relationship with the receivers coach, Prentice Gill. It is a great program with great coaches and a young team that’s making noise and they have with Jayden Daniels at quarterback.”

Herm Edwards has made it a point to recruit hard in the Golden State from the top to the bottom and this latest announcement coming out of Northern California is a good sign that the Herm Train is up and down the California coast.
