Arkansas Loses Second Commitment Of Day For 2025 Class
It’s almost panic time to hit panic button on recruiting cycle for Pittman
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Running back Jamarion Parker has decommitted from Arkansas, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports.
The 6-foot 182 RB from Saint Louis, MO had been committed to the Razorbacks since early September. Due to Jimmy Smith’s departure as Arkansas’ running back coach, it was a key reason for Parker to look elsewhere.
“I started thinking about this when coach Jimmy Smith left for TCU,” Parker told On3. “With coach Smith leaving, I feel like it is time to open up my recruitment.”
Parker is the second 2025 prospect to decommit from Arkansas Monday. Marion two-way lineman Carius Curne announced his plan to reopen his recruitment after committing earlier this month.
The St. Louis native rushed for 1,200 yards and 17 total touchdowns as a junior last season. He is poised for an even greater year for his Cardinal Ritter Prep School which finished 15-0 and won its previous two state championships.
Michigan, Nebraska, Missouri and TCU have joined in the race for Parker’s services for this cycle. Arkansas is now down to just three players committed to fifth year coach Sam Pittman’s program. Quarterback Grayson Wilson, running back Markeylin Batton and kicker Evan Noel remain on board for now.
Bauxite’s Marcus Wimberly will likely visit Fayetteville during the offseason. The safety with 4.3 speed has received quite a lot of interest around country since decommiting from Arkansas. Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Wisconsin are likely suitors for Wimberly.
Arkansas’ 2025 class stock has fallen drastically as it sits outside the top 50 nationally, according to 247sports.
