FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Late Monday night, details began to drift out regarding the death of former Arkansas Razorback record setting running back Alex Collins at 28-years-old.

The Broward Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit in Florida investigating Collins' death said the cause of death was a motorcycle accident that took place late Sunday night. Reports indicate Collins' motorcycle slammed so hard into the side of a turning Chevy Suburban that it caused the SUV to turn clockwise. Some of the remaining details may be more than some can handle, so the story will continue below the Tweet about the police report below, allowing those for whom it might be too much to avoid reading the details if they so choose.

Collins, who grew up in Florida, was driving a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600K in Lauderdale Lakes when the Suburban began turning left. As the SUV crossed the lanes to turn, Collins crashed into the vehicle at what appears to be an extremely high rate of speed. The impact sent Collins through the passenger side window of the Suburban.

Collins was pronounced dead on the scene. He helped pull Arkansas back up to respectability under former Razorback coach Bret Bielema after the program took a dip in the year following the infamous motorcycle crash that ended the Bobby Petrino era in Fayetteville. Collins is second to Razorback legend Darren McFadden in most rushing categories at Arkansas. However, he did manage to capture the school record for most touchdowns with 20 in 2015 before deciding to enter the NFL draft where he rotated between the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens.
