Potential OL Transfer Will Visit Arkansas Razorbacks Next Weekend

North Texas’ prolific offense losing key pieces as center schedules visit to Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — North Texas center, Ethan Miner, invited the Arkansas staff including new offensive line coach Eric Mateos into his home on Wednesday. He tells AllHogs that the visit went great and has scheduled an official visit with the Razorbacks Dec. 16.

The 6-foot-3, 296 pound center recorded the second-highest Pro Football Focus-College grade (82.8) out of all FBS centers and did not surrender a sack during the 2023 season. Miner was lightly recruited out of high school in Connecticut in the 2019 class, signing with Arkansas State for three seasons over Navy — his only two FBS offers. He anchored a North Texas offense that ranked No. 6 nationally in yards per game (496) and No. 22 in points per game (35).

Miner will visit Mississippi State this weekend where former Arkansas offensive line coach, Cody Kennedy, now coaches. He holds offers from Mississippi State, UCF, Penn State, Louisville, NC State, Rutgers and Arkansas. The addition of Miner would all but solidify him as the replacement for departing center Beaux Limmer who is expected to be an NFL Draft selection this spring.

The Razorbacks are looking for multiple offensive linemen during the offseason as this unit was one of the worst in not only the SEC but all of college football. Arkansas ranked dead last allowing 47 sacks this season which also ranked them No. 129 in the nation. Michigan State offensive lineman, Keyshawn Blackstock jumped aboard during the season and was the Hogs first transfer addition of the portal class.

In addition to Miner, Arkansas has also offered a pair of his teammates in quarterback Chandler Rogers and wide receiver Ja'Mori Maclin.
