FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — There has been a lot of chatter amongst the fan base of when the good news would begin. With the commitment of Tennessee transfer defensive back, Doneiko Slaughter, the good time may start to roll.

When Slaughter announced his entrance into the transfer portal it was met by sadness from Volunteer fans. The fan favorite spent the past four seasons in Knoxville recording 87 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, an interception and seven passes breakups. The 6-foot, 190 pounder shifted around the secondary his first few years in Knoxville before solidifying his spot at corner the past two seasons starting a total of 11 games.

Thanks NCAA! Razorbacks Have New Guard to Deploy

His junior season in 2022 was the most productive with a Pro Football Focus grade of 71.4 PFF grade in 486 snaps. He will have one year of eligibility remaining with the opportunity to face his former team in 2024 when Tennessee comes to Fayetteville face the Razorbacks on Oct. 5.

Slaughter is the fourth addition out of the transfer portal for the 2024 season. He is the second player from a Power Four to land with the Razorbacks including Michigan State transfer Keyshawn Blackstock. Quarterback Taylen Green (Boise State) and tight end Andreas Plaaske (Eastern Michigan) have both committed to the Razorbacks following their visits this past weekend.
