Titans Could Be in Running to Pair Treylon Burks with Bryce Young

Getting passer to get ball to talented receivers priority for Tennessee to return to playoffs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Lost in the swirl of different things going on these days, it was interesting to see one interesting item.

Apparently, Tennessee is one of the teams that is looking to move up in the NFL Draft to get a quarterback.

While Ryan Tannehill is not one of the Top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL, he's getting paid like one and that is a dangerous combination where juggling rosters also involves shifting around cash like a Wall Street money manager at times.

Chicago has the the top pick in this year's cattle auction for college players. The Bears also have a quarterback in Justin Fields they have said is their future.

No telling what the Titans would have to give up to get there, but never forget the quarterback position is the most valuable spot and teams will often pay crazy amounts for average players ... kinda like the spot the Titans are in.

While it would be a chance for the former Razorback (and Warren Lumberjack) Treylon Burks to get paired with former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, that's only if they don't have to trade him to get the pick.

Burks played in 11 games as a rookie with the Titans in 2022, getting 33 catches for 444 yards, including a couple of 51-yard plays. One of those got his only touchdown of the season and got him knocked out against the Eagles.

Wide receivers are, at times, almost untouchable. At other times just a chess piece to move around. The Titans traded AJ Brown to the Eagles for a chance to draft Burks out of Arkansas.

Brown's not complaining. He's getting paid and playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

It's anybody's guess how new Titans general manager Ron Carthon views the pass catchers. Some GMs figure they can pick one up on any street corner. Others view them as gold.

Tennessee is sitting at the No. 11 spot and that's where getting a good quarterback is kinda important. Two folks they play in the AFC South, the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, are at No. 2 and 4.

The price to jump from 11 to that top spot the Bears have will be steep. Whether that's enough isn't known.

That could re-unite a couple of SEC players who certainly know each other from college and more interest from Razorback fans for the Titans.

Unless Burks becomes part of the deal.
