Former Musselman Adviser Joins his Staff in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Basketball coach Eric Musselman's staff got larger again on Friday. Matt White will join the Hogs' group of coaches and advisers as a senior advisor to the head coach, the University of Arkansas announced in a press release.

White, who served in a similar role when Musselman was the head coach of the Nevada Wolf Pack, brings a unique perspective to the ever-growing staff.

Under Musselman and his coaching staff, Nevada won a CBI title and three Mountain West crowns in four seasons (2015-2019). During his time at Nevada after Musselman's departure, White became Chairman of the Advisory Board for Friends of The Pack, the first significant name, image, and likeness (NIL) collective supporting men’s and women's sports at Nevada.

"I’ve known Matt for a long time and he was a valuable part of our team success at Nevada,” Musselman said. “He has great leadership qualities, has a unique analytical mind, and as a successful businessman, brings a different perspective to our program and into our staff meetings. He will be an excellent mentor to our entire staff and help with their development personally and professionally.”

White's background is not originally in coaching. He is a businessman by trade. Since 2005, White has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Basin Street Properties. Basin Street is a fully integrated commercial real estate investment company committed to creating a superior tenant experience.

The Hogs continue to prepare for the season with their next scrimmage against UT-Tyler 7 p.m. Friday Oct. 20 at Bud Walton Arena. The regular season will begin Nov. 6 against Alcorn State.
