FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The media has pegged Arkansas to finish third in the SEC and will feature All-SEC first team forward Trevon Brazile and All-SEC second team guard Davonte Davis presumably in its starting line-up.

Brazile averaged 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and was the team’s leading 3-point shooter at 37.9 percent (11-of-29) before a knee injury took him out just before what would have been his first SEC game in a Razorback uniform. In his eight-plus games played, Brazile led the team in rebounding five times and blocked shots four times. He recorded his first two career double-doubles with 21 pts and 12 rebounds against fellow All-SEC first teamer Grant Nelson and North Dakota State and 13 points and 10 rebounds against South Dakota State.

At the Maui Invitational, Brazile led Arkansas to an overtime win over San Diego State by scoring 20 points, 18 of which came in the second half, and snatching nine rebounds. Brazile was just hitting his stride, posting 23 points on an almost perfect shooting night against San Jose State in what turned out to be his final full game of the season.

This is the second preseason All-SEC second team honor for Davis. His last came prior to the 2021-22 season. Davis is the only Razorback to play in Arkansas’ back-to-back-Elite 8 and Sweet 16 runs over the past three seasons. He finished last year on the SEC All-Defensive Team and was an offensive leader down the final stretch, including a memorable 25 points in a gutsy effort that led the Razorbacks to an upset of No. 1 seed Kansas. Davis finished the year averaging 10.9 points and 4.4 rebounds while leading the team in 3-pont shooting at nearly 35%. He was also second on the team in assists (87) and steals (48).

Davis needs 59 points to cross 1,000 point barrier for his career. He already fills the Arkansas record books as the ninth Razorback to reach 900+ points, 400+ rebounds, 200+ assists and 100+ steals in a Razorback uniform.
