LITTLE ROCK – The Million Dollar man and his helper Virgil, God rest his recently departed soul, used to come to the ring and proclaim that every man has a price. Well, in the case of Arkansas guard Davonte Davis, his price is three well done steaks from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

During his weekly appearance on "The Zone" on 103.7 The Buzz in Little Rock, he was asked whether he planned to come back to take advantage of his COVID season next year at Arkansas. Having seen how fellow Razorbacks guard Khalif Battle has endured endless questioning after apparently revealing his intentions last night and knowing how it's often an Eric Musselman decision more than a player decision, Davis chose to play things close to the vest.

"I'm not sure," Davis said. "That's a great question for me coming from you guys asking me. We're taking everything day by day, you know. Taking everything day by day, letting the team's plan plan itself right out itself. I mean, its an honor if it was [his final home game] and if it isn't, I'm gladly happy to be back and be able to play but uh, yeah, there's right now, it's day by day right now."

Not one to let an opportunity slide, host Justin Acri carefully led the veteran Davis into a trap. With no context or transition at all, he abruptly asked the Hogs' senior guard about his favorite food.

"I like Ruth's Chris," Davis said. "Well done steak. A well done steak."

The well done steak comment knocked Acri off his game for a second, but he quickly recovered, remembering what he was trying to accomplish.

"I will tell you what," Acri said. "I will take you out to Ruth's Chris for three well done steaks if you tell me right now you're coming back next season."

This was clearly tempting to Davis as you could practically hear is thoughts churning over the radio waves as he pictured the hot, well seasoned slab of meat cooked all the way through with the perfect sear gently smoking on a plate in front of him. The thought was getting to him.

"Well, how long how long do I got?" Davis asked.

"I think we only got like two minutes left," Acri said. "If you want to break the news here we'll take it. I mean, you know, we can already we can set this up for next year and you're ready for our weekly calls next season."

Not being one to waste a potential NIL deal, Davis played his cards smartly. Little did he know, he was about to negotiate a little something his way no matter whether he returned.

"When I when I figure it out, y'all guys will be the first to know," Davis said. "How about that?"

"That's what I like to hear. I'll take it," Acri said. "You know what, three steaks anyway. If we're the first ones to know when it doesn't get out before that I'll be happy to happy to purchase the steaks."

Having secured a verbal deal for three portions of well-done beefy gold, Davis sealed the deal with a guarantee.

"If it does, it's been leaked by somebody else and it's false information," Davis said.
