Auburn football top 10 in average player rating in 2024 recruiting class

The Tigers' 2024 class is off to a good start underneath Hugh Freeze.

Auburn's 2024 class includes four-stars Walker White (QB), A'Mon Lane (DB), Jayden Lewis (DB), J'Marion Burnette (RB), Joseph Phillips (LB), and Kensley Faustin (S), as well as three-stars Martavious Collins (TE) and Bryce Cain (WR).

As of right now, the average player rating (according to the On3 recruiting rankings) is 89.99. That average rating is good for seventh nationally.

The top ten schools in terms of average player rating in the 2024 class is as follows:

1. Alabama - 93.01 (8 commits)

2. Ohio State - 92.00 (16 commits)

3. Georgia - 91.52 (21 commits)

4. USC - 91.05 (13 commits)

5. Florida - (17 commits)

6. Clemson - 90.81 (12 commits)

7. Auburn - 89.99 (8 commits)

8. Notre Dame - 89.97 (21 commits)

9. Michigan - 89.93 (23 commits)

10. Texas A&M - 89.83 (11 commits)

The Tigers are one of five schools on the list to not have a five-star in their 2024 class (USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas A&M).

That could be changing soon, however.

The Tigers are desperately trying to flip five-star wide receiver Perry Thompson away from Alabama and are currently having success doing so - whether or not they land him is still up in the air. If not, there's another five-star receiver Auburn may be close to getting.

Cam Coleman, the No. 11 prospect nationally and the No. 4 WR has just received a prediction to commit to Auburn.
