Auburn's Football Recruiting Efforts Are Being Noticed By Nation's Best Prospects

The number of elite recruits strongly considering Auburn is staggering

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Looking back at all the notes, interviews with prospects, and just the way that players discussed Auburn, there's no question the Tigers are one of the hottest teams along the recruiting trail.

The Under Armour Atlanta Camp was the final point to coming to this conclusion. The Tigers have already secured eight verbal commitments for their 2025 recruiting class ranked #7 by Rivals. The good start is a barometer of what's to come.

Here's what Rivals national recruiting analyst John Garcia, Jr. wrote about an Auburn top offensive line target, Tavaris Dice:

"If it comes to one program perhaps positioning itself as well as anyone in a loaded field, Auburn could be that destination. Few programs have hosted Dice like AU has, even getting him on campus to kick off the month of February."

Working at the Under Armour Camp alongside Garcia and several other recruiting analysts, I concur with his sentiments about Dice. That point is true about numerous recruits that were in attendance at Under Armour.

I already wrote about elite recruits Auburn could land like Akylin Dear, Alvin Henderson, KJ Lacey, and others from Under Armour. Truth be told, I'm not even halfway through all the information learned just from UA Atlanta. That's good news for Auburn.

Here's the baseline for Auburn recruiting, going directly from what prospects have told me and also understanding the recruiting landscape in states like Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida where Auburn signs the majority of its recruits.

While quarterback recruiting is still up in the air, I'm bullish on where the Tigers stand with both Dear and Henderson at running back. Each is an elite recruit and Auburn is probably going to sign at least one of them.

At wide receiver, the Tigers can be selective after signing Cam Coleman, Bryce Cain, Perry Thompson, and Malcolm Simmons from the 2024 recruiting cycle. They do appear to be in good shape for one of the nation's best pass catchers and top UA performers from Sunday in Travis Smith from Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake. Here were his own thoughts on possibly joining Auburn after last season's haul of receivers:

"I definitely have to say it's a good thing," Smith began. "You know, Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson, those are great receivers. So, if we had a great receiving corps with me, Perry, and Cam, that would be scary."

When asked about getting back to Auburn for an unofficial visit, Smith was quick to say, "Yes sir." He also admits to having developed a good relationship with Auburn wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. Here's a video of Smith catching a bomb for a touchdown during Under Armour:

At tight end, the Tigers are already set with two verbal commitments. It's Ryan Ghea and Hollis Davidson that agreed to become Tigers.

Spencer Dowland was the first offensive line commitment from the class of 2025, and there are plenty of options remaining to help finally get Auburn's depth chart in a truly enviable position.

Micah Debose appears to be close to a commitment and the Tigers are probably the most likely school to gain his commitment. LSU, Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama were the other schools he mentioned when asked by Garcia.

There's also Dice, mentioned above, along the offensive line, plus prospects like Cortez Smith from Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview and Carde Smith from Mobile (Ala.) Williamson could end up with Auburn, among many others.

Auburn's 2025 defensive line class is already tremendous with four commitments, and I will be writing some extremely positive news about one commitment to the Tigers that showed out during Under Armour soon.

Additionally, no doubt Auburn is squarely in the mix with several more defensive line recruits like Justus Terry, Zion Grady (pictured on the front of this article), Jared Smith and Grayshaun Swain.

For Auburn's linebacker recruiting efforts, it is a position that I need to learn more but the Tigers are in the thick of the race for multiple big-time players. There's Eric Winters, Grady's teammate at Enterprise (Ala.) High School. He could also play strong safety, nickel, or move to offense. He's even a talented basketball player, too.

Also, there's Jordon Perlotte from Buford (Ga.) High School. He's one of the best all-around linebackers in the country and has been to the Plains multiple times despite being a UGA commitment.

In the secondary, Auburn has a shot with top cornerback Devin Williams, another prospect from Buford High School. He's another top recruit that's been to Auburn already.

At safety, Anquon Fegans is a recruit to watch from Birmingham (Ala.) Thompson. The Tigers are the team to beat for the No. 50 player by Rivals. Adding talent to the last line of defense will be a big part of this recruiting class and Fegans would be a huge addition to the Auburn program.
