SEC Baseball Power Rankings: Ranking all 12 teams in the SEC Tournament

Where is Auburn in our final SEC baseball power rankings?

It is officially post-season baseball time as the twelve teams that made the SEC Tournament are heading to Hoover!

Our last two National Champions, Ole Miss and Mississippi State will not join us for this fun week of baseball, making for a fascinating storyline.

It will be a fun week of baseball in Hoover, where you can expect a lot of talent and, if history holds true, a lot of rain.

Let's look at our SEC baseball power rankings for the 12 teams that are in the SEC Baseball Tournament.

12. Missouri Tigers

Record: 30-23 (10-20 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 12

SEC Tournament Opponent: Auburn

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: Missouri is crawling into the SEC Tournament after being swept by the Auburn Tigers. This ball club would need a miracle run to make the field of 64. It was a season where Missouri impressed and surprised a lot of people, but I expect their season to end in Hoover.

11. Georgia

Record: 29-26 (11-19 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 11

SEC Tournament Opponent: South Carolina

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: Georgia is a team that returned a lot of talented bats, which had many excited to see what the 2023 season held for the Bulldogs. These bats didn't lead to a ton of SEC wins which is why this ball club will see its season come to an end in Hoover, just like Missouri. Georgia does have the bats to go on a run in the tournament, but not enough pitching to win the whole thing.

10. Texas A&M Aggies

Record: 32-23 (14-16 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 10

SEC Tournament Opponent: Tennessee

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: The Aggies are a baseball team surrounded by hope heading into this season after an appearance in Omaha last season. Based on expectations, it hasn't been a good season for Texas A&M, but they will make it into the field of 64. I always say if SEC teams get to a regional, they can always go on a run, and that is the case with this Aggie ball club.

9. South Carolina Gamecocks

Record: 38-17 (16-13 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 6

SEC Tournament Opponent: Georgia

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: This season was a roller coaster for the Gamecocks. They started red hot, then had a massive slide to finish conference play. I have a feeling this ball club won't make it deep into the NCAA or SEC tournament, as they are riding the lowest of lows currently.

8. Kentucky Wildcats (25)

Record: 36-17 (16-14 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 8

SEC Tournament Opponent: Alabama

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: Kentucky was a similar ball club to South Carolina. They were hot then cold to finish the season. It was a really impressive season for a team I picked to be the worst in the SEC to finish with a 16-14 conference record. I think Kentucky could make a run in the postseason but wouldn't bet on it.

7. Alabama Crimson Tide (24)

Record: 38-17 (16-14 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 9

SEC Tournament Opponent: Kentucky

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: After all of the controversy with the head coach Alabama put together an excellent season. They have a good shot at hosting a regional, but a win in Hoover would help lock that down to a certainty.

6. Tennessee Volunteers (13)

Record: 38-18 (16-14 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 7

SEC Tournament Opponent: Texas A&M

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: Tennessee was a club that had big expectations heading into this season and put together a solid year. The Vols have a great pitching staff that could help them make a run in the postseason. I still believe this ball club could make it to Omaha.

5. Auburn Tigers (19)

Record: 33-19-1 (17-13 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 5

SEC Tournament Opponent: Missouri

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: There is no hotter team on the planet than the Auburn Tigers. Auburn finished the season winning eight straight conference games, putting themselves in a great position heading into the postseason. For a team that was left for dead, it's incredible to see what Coach Butch Thompson and his players have done to go from a team that looked like they wouldn't make the postseason to a potential host.

4. Vanderbilt Commodores (8)

Record: 37-17 (19-11 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 4

SEC Tournament Opponent: Auburn/Missouri

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: Vanderbilt once again has had another incredible season and will be hosting a regional after the conclusion of the SEC Tournament. Coach Corbin just always seems to get it done, and this season has been no different. It would come as no surprise to me if the Commodores won the SEC Tournament and made it to Omaha.

3. LSU Tigers (5)

Record: 42-13 (19-10 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 3

SEC Tournament Opponent: Georgia/South Carolina

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: LSU lost two straight series but finished the season with a series win over Georgia. I still believe the Bayou Bengals are the best team in college baseball. How deep they go in the postseason will all be up to how the pitchers other than Paul Skene's perform. If the pitchers have a good postseason with the offensive firepower of LSU, this team can win it all.

2. Florida Gators (2)

Record: 42-13 (20-10 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 2

SEC Tournament Opponent: Kentucky/Alabama

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: Florida is another one of the teams that I can see making it to Omaha. The Gators are my pick to win the SEC Tournament. The mix of offense and defense makes this team elite, and those types of teams often go deep in the postseason. Watch out for the Gators as the postseason ramps up.

1. Arkansas Razorbacks (4)

Record: 39-15 (20-10 SEC)

SEC Tournament Seed: 1

SEC Tournament Opponent: Texas A&M/Tennessee

Outlook Headed Into Postseason: The Razorbacks had to fight some adversity this season as they lost a lot to injury and they still won a piece of the SEC regular season title. The Razorbacks are playing well at the most crucial time of the year and could head back to Omaha once again. Here come the Hogs.
