Johni Broome is back for another year on the Plains

Auburn got their big man back as Johni Broome removed his name from the NBA Draft.

Johni Broome is back!

After putting his name in the NBA Draft to "test the waters," a lot went well for Broome in the draft process.

This had many believing he might forgo his college eligibility and find a new home in professional basketball.

Thankfully for Auburn's 2023-24 basketball season, he decided to return for one more year on the Plains.

The big man averaged 14.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.4 blocks a game last season for Auburn.

I could see all of those numbers going up in his second year wearing an Auburn uniform.

I expect a starting lineup to look something like this for Auburn for the 2023-24 season.

PG Aden Holloway/ Tre Donaldson

SG Denver Jones/K.D. Johnson/Lior Berman

SF Chad Baker-Mazara/Chris Moore

PF Jaylin Williams/Chaney Johnson

C Johni Broome/Dylan Cardwell

The one position there that could be interchangeable would be Baker-Mazara, Johnson, and Moore. They could all play the backup four role if need be.

Broome coming back is huge for this Tiger team as they once again have a squad that compete for an SEC Championship.

Coach Pearl loves to "make history," and it looks like this team with Broome back on the Plains will do just that.
