Betting odds for Auburn to win the NCAA Tournament

Can Auburn go on a run in March?

The Auburn Tigers finished the regular season 24-7 overall and went 13-5 in the very competitive SEC.

Auburn will likely be a four-seed in the NCAA Tournament, as they are in Joe Lunardi's recent Bracketology update.

The Tigers would play Samford to open the NCAA Tournament, and if they were to win this game, they would more than likely play #5 seed BYU.

The problem with this for Auburn is this draw has the Tigers playing BYU in Salt Lake City if they can beat Samford. It's a short 45-minute drive from Provo, Utah ,where BYU is located, to Salt Lake City, giving them a real advantage.

Despite this not so great draw from Lunardi FanDuel Sportsbook still believes the Auburn Tigers have a chance to make a run. The odds for Auburn to win the National Championship, according to FanDuel, are +2000, which is good for sixth best behind UConn (+480), Houston (+650), Purdue (+750), Arizona (+1400), and Tennessee (+1400). FanDuel also gives Auburn the sixth-best odds to make the Final Four at +370.

What makes this Auburn team really intriguing is their advanced metrics. KenPom has Auburn as the fourth-best team in all of college basketball, with an adjusted offensive ranking of 13th and an adjusted defensive ranking of 6th.

The way Auburn defends will help them make a run in the NCAA Tournament, as strong defense keeps games close until the shots fall.

If the three-pointers go for this Auburn team the way they defend, there is no stopping Bruce Pearl's squad.
