Should Lior Berman be getting more opportunities to shoot the ball?

Is it time for the Berminater to get more shots?

The is no louder roar in the Jungle than when Lior Berman makes a three-pointer.

This leads many to wonder - should he be getting more shots?

Well, after looking at his stats from this season and last year, the answer to that question is an emphatic yes.

This season Berman has attempted 19 three-pointers and made eight of them, equating to 42% from deep. This is the best percentage on the team, although Chris Moore is right on his tail, shooting 41% from deep.

Last season Berman attempted 17 threes and made eight of them for a 47% clip from beyond the arc.

This means over the past two seasons, Berman is 16-36 from deep for a percentage of 44.

It is hard to deny statistics, and these numbers back up that Berman can shoot the lights out.

Of course, he is not as good of a defender as the other players at his position, but he is arguably the best natural shooter that gets minutes on this team.

Don't forget that Berman is not a short basketball player. He's six-foot-four and weighs 215 pounds.

Berman is coming off a performance against Missouri where he put up eight points on 3-4 shooting and 2-2 from three.

Auburn as a team is shooting 29.9% from three this season, so clearly, the answer isn't to keep letting the people missing shots throw them up.

Berman, with an increased role, may surprise some people down the stretch of the season.

Statistics aside, there is no one easier to root for than Berman, as he is a walk-on, but you wouldn't know it watching him drain shots from deep in conference play.
