Former Auburn Tiger Jabari Smith Jr. had a career-high 34 points against the Atlanta Hawks
Jabari Smith Jr. and the Rockets took on the Atlanta Hawks in Houston last night, and he absolutely went off.
Smith Jr. had a career-high 34 points to go with 13 rebounds, one assist, and four blocks.
The Rockets weren't able to get the win despite Smith Jr's big game but maybe this is exactly what he needs to get going.
Smith is averaging 13.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on the season so far, but we want to see that points per game jump to at least the sixteen mark.
We are almost 30 games into the NBA season and the Rockets are a game over .500 with a 13-12 record. Some excellent offseason additions have been a big reason why the team is playing better basketball.
Smith Jr.'s shooting percentages are looking a lot better this year as in his rookie season, he shot 40.8% from the field, but he is shooting 48% from the field this season. He shot 30.7% from deep last year and is shooting 36.9% from beyond the arc so far during the 2023-24 season.
It really feels like a breakout is coming for the former Auburn Tiger, as he is the type of player that could become a superstar in the NBA.
