Social media reactions and highlights from Auburn Basketball’s win over Georgia
Auburn traveled to Athens to take on the Bulldogs Saturday night in what is usually a challenging road game for the Tigers. Auburn came out firing early and took a 9-point lead into halftime. The Tigers controlled much of the game until the Bulldogs cut the lead to 3 with ten minutes to play. Auburn would then go on a 16-4 run and not look back.
Coming into the game, Auburn was reeling with the temporary loss of Jaylin Williams. Other guys would have to step up, and step up they did. Chad Baker Mazara put on a show for the ages, finishing with 25 points. Chaney Johnson had an exciting 16 points filling in for Williams, and Aden Holloway added 15 points, shooting 5/8 from three. What could have been disastrous without Jaylin Williams has thus far become a renaissance. Auburn needed more from these three players. They rose to the occasion, and Auburn’s potential run in March may end up benefiting.
