Experienced Player At Position Of Need Plans To Enter The Transfer Portal

Auburn should have several options at their position of needs once the transfer portal opens.

The Auburn Tigers will have a chance to improve their roster now that Transfer Portal season is here.

After Auburn's annual A-Day game, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze mentioned that the Tigers would be looking for guys to help bolster their wide receiver and defensive line rooms.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Louisville defensive lineman Jermayne Lole plans to enter the transfer portal. Lole is listed at six-foot-three, 310 pounds. He's played in 39 career games during his four years of playing college football.

Before suiting up for Louisville last season, he spent the first three seasons of his college career with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Auburn needs depth on the defensive line. In December, Auburn added defensive linemen Trill Carter from Texas and Gage Keys from Kansas. Trill appears to be the backup nose guard behind Jayson Jones. Keys was a starter at defensive tackle and rotated reps with freshman Malik Blocton at times during A-Day.

Auburn's defensive line has a lot of talent but as it currently sits, there's a ton of youth in the room. Auburn's 2024 class had several standout players who may see playing time as true freshmen this season. Blocton, TJ Lindsey, Amaris Williams, Jamonta Waller, and Joe Phillips.

After the four seniors of Keys, Carter, Jones, and Zykevious Walker, the only other non-freshman on the interior defensive line is junior Bobby Jamison-Travis. The other interior linemen are freshman. Darron Reed is a redshirt freshman this season.

The transfer portal opens Tuesday.
