The Iron Bowl is one of the most highly anticipated games in all of college football, and the 2023 matchup between Auburn and Alabama is no exception.

Auburn's successes underneath first-year head coach Hugh Freeze may not impact the environment that will be on display in Jordan-Hare this November... and CBS Sports recognizes it.

According to a recent article by CBS Sports' Raymond Lucas Jr. about the 12 loudest games in college football this upcoming season, the Iron Bowl is expected to be one of the loudest atmospheres in the sport in 2023 - per usual.

"There really isn’t much to be said here. Jordan-Hare Stadium is a daunting place for opponents to play and that elevates when arch-rival Alabama is in town," Lucas Jr. wrote. The Tigers should be better than they were in 2022, which only adds to how loud this outing might be. Auburn fans will beam with confidence knowing that although Alabama has been a force, new head coach Hugh Freeze has toppled Nick Saban twice, doing so during his time at Ole Miss. This isn’t intended to be a shot at the Rebels, but if Freeze can topple the Crimson Tide at Ole Miss, he can certainly do it at Auburn."
