Auburn is pursuing class of 2024 five-star wideout Mike Matthews hard

In this story:
Auburn is pursuing class of 2024 five-star wideout Mike Matthews from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia.
Matthews is a good size wideout standing six-foot-two 180-pounds.
He is ranked as the number seven overall recruit in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports.
Auburn recruiting analyst for On3 Cole Pinkston joined the Locked on Auburn Podcast to discuss the recruitment of Matthews.
Host of Locked on Auburn Zac Blackerby asked Pinkston, "What are Auburn's chances of landing five-star receiver Mike Matthews?"
Pinkston responded, "Yeah, man, well, my impression was the guy is not even close to narrowing things down. Maybe he is; maybe he threw me off a little there. It's always possible, but he named so many schools that he wants to see. He said I forgot a few. I don't want to leave anybody out because I am going to visit all of these schools. So he's got a long way to go. Auburn has offered him in both basketball and football. It's one of the only schools to do that so far. So I think that's gotten his attention, and I really don't think they had his attention before that, to be honest. So, once again, like with Landen Thomas Auburn is sort of new here. I think they are sort of new here, and I think that's how it's going to be with several guys this year for this new staff. Going through the cycle again. I do think Auburn will have a chance when he visits."
After watching his tape, it is easy to see why Matthews is a top-ten recruit in this class.
His mix of strength and speed is incredibly impressive. Matthews is shifty and finds ways to get open on broken plays. He's not afraid to block on run plays. Matthews also has excellent hands and a massive catch radius.
This kid will be special at the next level, so hopefully, Coach Freeze and receivers Coach Marcus Davis can get Auburn's name in this race.
"I am coming down to it. I will probably do it in a month or two." 👀
