In this story:

On Monday, Auburn received the commitment of four-star 2025 defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford from Birmingham, Alabama.

Crawford is an absolute unit and is one of the top players in the 2025 class.

Auburn personality Charlie 5 joined the Locked On Auburn Podcast to discuss Crawford's commitment.

Host Zac Blackerby asked why Charlie 5 believes Crawford's commitment is much more significant than just on-field production.

Charlie 5 had this to say, "Look, Jourdin Crawford is an unbelievable player. I think he will be a stalemate in the trenches for several years. Six-foot-one 300lbs but athletic enough to play on the nose or shade out whatever he has to do, he's very versatile. This is kind of the thing I'm talking about; on the Monday when Hugh Freeze was in Birmingham, he was making stops at the Birmingham equivalent of like the mad house training in Montgomery that churned out a Qua Russaw or a James Smith. He's at the step-by-step training facility meeting with Coach L. I think they even tweeted it out that he was there. It's where all these Birmingham guys work out. You've got your Jourdin Crawford, your Jeremiah Beaman, Jayson Jones, who's already on the team."

"Then you start looking. You've got Kaleb Harris safety from Thompson, who's going to be here this weekend; many think it's possible he can pull the trigger this weekend. You maybe start a pipeline with Thompson; it's just so much bigger than just finding a four-star and going and recruiting him. It takes so much time and so much effort to foster these relationships. You've got Jeremiah Beaman, who you're going really hard at, who you could possibly flip in this class. You've got Na'eem Offord, who's also on the same team as Crawford and will possibly be the number one player in the state in 2025, a five-star corner, six-foot-one, 185-pound freak athlete.

"Crawford's commitment could be a domino that could turn into something much bigger."

It sounds like Coach Freeze is doing a great job building the relationships it takes to recruit at a high level, which will be huge for Auburn down the road.

This 2025 Auburn recruiting class is going to be special.
