Auburn has offered four-star corner Jon Mitchell

Auburn has put its name in the running for four-star corner Jon Mitchell.

Auburn has offered class of 2024 cornerback Jon Mitchell out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Mitchell is a six-foot, 160-pound corner who is currently a four-star on 247Sports.

He has a big offer list, including some top dogs like Alabama, Michigan, and USC.

After watching his tape, it is clear that Mitchell is a special talent. He fights through blocks well and picks up on screenplays early. Mitchell has good hands helping him to intercept passes. He also is not afraid of contact and packs a punch when he hits the ball carrier.

What stood out the most in Mitchell's tape was his football IQ. You can tell he has a great understanding of the game, which helps him blow up plays for the opposing offense.

It would not be surprising if Mitchell climbed from the mid-300s, where he is now, to a top 200 player in his class.

Hopefully, the success the Tigers have had developing corners over the past few years will help land this talented player from the Sunshine State.

The next step will be to get Mitchell on campus in the hopes he then chooses to play his college ball on the Plains.
