Auburn's 2024 recruiting class makes jump in national rankings following Demarcus Riddick's commitment

Hugh Freeze has secured the talents of his first five-star during his Auburn tenure.

Demarcus Riddick, a linebacker from Chilton County, decided to come to Auburn after a month or two of deliberation between Auburn and Alabama.

The Tigers class, now featuring 12 commitments, has made a jump in national recruiting rankings.

Auburn has moved up from 38th nationally to 27th, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. They've slid up from 14th in the SEC to 12th.

On3 seems to value the Tigers' class differently, moving them from 20th nationally to 16th, as well as 8th in the SEC.

Riddicks talent as a five-star prospect is evident, and he had a stat line in his junior year to prove it. The rising senior totaled 109 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, seven sacks, three interceptions, four pass deflections, and a forced fumble. He can play in the box as a middle linebacker, on the line as an edge, and has enough versatility to be productive in guarding wide receivers and tight ends.
