Auburn's 2023 season is finally trending up after dropping four straight games. They took down Mississippi State on Saturday thanks to a much better offensive performance all around.

The Auburn rushing attack was certainly a factor as Jarquez Hunter ran for 144 of Auburn's 186 yards on the ground. This performance comes after a solid rushing game against Ole Miss where Hunter had 91 yards on the ground including a 53-yard run that went for a score.

“We’ve been doing good in the run game these last couple of weeks," Hunter said. "The O-line has been executing their blocks. They have to be patient and hit the holes. The O-line has been making their blocks.”

It took a while for Auburn to find rhythm in the rushing game on offense this season.

“It was a rough start," Hunter said after the win. "I had to get back into the groove and get back into the momentum. But the second half of the season is going to be better because I try to get better at practice. If I practice hard, I play hard. That’s where it starts.”

Hunter has 89 carries on the season for 453 yards and five touchdowns. He also has nine catches for 91 yards through the air.
