Auburn Briefing: Lane Kiffin is still discussing Auburn?

The Auburn/Ole Miss Rivalry continues to grow.

Never a dull moment in the SEC.

Lane Kiffin will lead off today's Auburn Briefing, as well as Tigers making it into the MLB, and thoughts on Spring camp.

Lane Kiffin chimed in more on Auburn

In an interview with ESPN's Alex Scarborough, the Auburn/Ole Miss sage was brought up and Kiffin admitted he would have potentially left and taken the head Auburn job when he was a younger coach. Obviously, that didn't happen and it seems like both Ole Miss and Auburn came out on top.

Kiffin claims that the Auburn job drama sparked an uptick in giving and strengthening their footing with NIL. Auburn landed Hugh Freeze who is running on all cylinders trying to land the best talent in the country every single day. Good for the SEC West.

Auburn takes on Ole Miss on October 21st in Jordan Hare Stadium. That's going to be a blast.

"You can look at it and say, 'All right, there's something we wish wouldn't have happened, and the whole Auburn thing was a distraction,'" Kiffin said. "But you can also look at it and say, 'If that didn't happen, what would the collective be?' And not just in what we signed in the last portal and recruiting class, but the future. Or, more importantly, keeping our own players."

Edouard Julien has been called up by the Twins

Julien was at Auburn in 2018 and 2019 before being drafted in the 18th round by the Twins. In the minors,

Julien is coming off a solid season in the minors, where he hit .300 and had 17 home runs in Double-A. He also had two homers in Triple-A.

The Twins are set to play today at 12:10 p.m. CT against the Chicago White Sox.

Tiger Toast

Let's give a toast to Connor Lew and the instant impact he made during his first spring in his collegiate career. His ability to be a backup center to Avery Jones while also competing for a starting guard spot is the best-case scenario for a roster that desperately needed more offensive linemen to step up.

The combination of the transfers Jones, Dillon Wade, and Gunner Britton with the upside that Lew brings as a true freshman offers an upside that many folks following Auburn would have never expected from this unit before Freeze was hired.
