Auburn Football Pre-Spring Depth Chart Prediction

Auburn Football's spring practices begin this week so let's take a stab at a depth chart.

Auburn football is back as the second spring of the Hugh Freeze era is set to begin.

There are several postion battles that will unfold over the next few weeks at many major positions. The quarterback pecking order will be monitored closely while the wide receivers will look to see who separates themselves from the pack. There are a lot of questions about the defensive two-deep.

Let's take a stab at predicting Auburn's depth chart entering spring. Obviously, some positions are more fluid and this is a prediction of how I believe Auburn will start spring practices.

Quarterback

1: Payton Thorne
2: Hank Brown
3: Holden Geriner
4: Walker White

I think this will move around this spring.

Running back

1: Jarquez Hunter
2: Damari Alston
3: Jeremiah Cobb
4: Brian Battie

Auburn has a room loaded with guys who can serve different roles.

Outside Wide Receiver

1: Cam Coleman
2: Caleb Burton
3: Robert Lewis
4: Camden Brown

Perry Thompson and Malcolm Simmons are not on campus yet. I believe they will fight for reps over the summer and fall.

Slot Wide Receiver

1. Jay Fair
2. Bryce Cain
3. Sam Jackson V

It will be interesting to see if Caleb Burton is used more at slot or out wide.

Offensive Line

Starters

LT: Percy Lewis
LG: Dillon Wade
C: Connor Lew
RG: Jeremiah Wright
RT: Izavion Miller

Second Unit

LT: Tyler Johnson
LG: Dylan Senda
C: Tate Johnson
RG: Jaden Muskrat
RT: Seth Wilfred

Freshman DeAndre Carter is a guy to watch for as well.

Tight end

1. Rivaldo Fairweather
2. Luke Deal
3. Micah Riley
4. Brandon Frazier

Defensive line

Starting four (I'm grouping the Jacks in here.)

JACK: Jalen McLeod
NT: Jayson Jones
DT: Gage Keys
DE: Keldric Faulk

Next group in

JACK: Jamonta Waller
NT: Trill Carter
DT: Malik Blocton
DE: TJ Lindey

I think this is the most unpredictable room this spring. Freshmen could come in and really impact the rotation.

Linebacker

1. Eugene Asante
2. Austin Keys
3. Dorian Mausi
4. Robert Woodyard

Another position group where freshmen could win some jobs. Demarcus Riddick, DJ Barber, and Joe Phillips have already impressed folks within the program.

Defensive Backs

In this exercise, I'm going to list Keionte Scott at corner. Obviously, he could shift back inside to nickel.

Starters

CB: Keionte Scott
CB: Kayin Lee
S: Jerrin Thompson
S: Sylvester Smith
Nickel: Caleb Wooden

Next group in

CB: Antonio Kite
CB: JD Rhym
S: Laquan Robinson
S: Terrance Love
Nickel: Champ Anthony
