Auburn is targeting Baker High School standout Bryce Cain to have a place in the 2024 recruiting class.

Cain has shown that he has a solid ability to get behind the defense thanks to his top-notch speed. He seems to feel the field well both when running routes and looking for separation as well as when he has the ball in his hands. When he's trying to find space after securing the ball, he won't always cut to the outside but has shown to have the vision to cut inside when it is the smarter play. That's a nice trait when looking at wide receivers that often use their speed to attack defenses.

The 3-star wide receiver would consistently beat his man towards the endzone, his quarterback would underthrow him, and Cain would fight to come back to the ball and secure the catch.

Cain did a lot during his visit. He competed at Auburn's camp and also connected with Auburn's coaches.

"My visit went very well. I got to go up to Coach Freeze's office and meet him and I had a great talk with him," Cain told Auburn Daily. "They showed me around campus and I loved it. I think I did really well at the camp also. Coach (Marcus) Davis gave me a lot of reps and I loved it. He knows what he's doing and he will develop me any way possible."

On every play I could find of Cain's junior season, he lined up as an outside wide receiver. His frame at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, projects more to a slot-type option at the college level.

"(Coach Hugh Freeze) mentioned that he'll use me as a speedy slot receiver," Cain told Auburn Daily. "He said that I have the potential to go to the next level."

The list of schools that Cain is considering is down to two - Auburn and Ole Miss. He's expected to announce in the next couple of days.
