Auburn Briefing: Hugh Freeze offers Georgia DB, depth chart musings

In this story:
Spring practice is behind us and Hugh Freeze can now fully focus again on what has been his priority since taking over as the Auburn head football coach - acquiring talent.
The transfer portal opens Saturday and I'm sure Freeze will be ready to hop on a call with several potential Tigers as soon as they place their name in but until then, the devotion to the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes remains clear.
Auburn offers Antonio White
Antonio White tweeted that he had been offered by Auburn on Monday. The three-star Georgia athlete plays both wide receiver and defensive back. Most SEC schools seem to be looking at him as a defensive player at the college level.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, White has plenty of room, and time, to build out his frame. The On3 prediction machine projects him to go to Pitt but as more offers come from the SEC, that will more than likely change.

Depth chart thoughts
As several outlets release guesses at depth chart post-spring, the most fluid position continues to be linebacker. There are several outlets still listing Cam Riley as a starter, others see Robert Woodyard and Austin Keys as the first two backers on the field.
We have already seen two reserve backers announce that they will be in the transfer portal once it opens this weekend, I', expecting more Auburn linebackers to follow suit with nine players fighting for those two spots on the field.
We wrote it
Auburn Daily's Matthew Jacobs wrote about the top quarterbacks currently in the transfer portal before it reopens on Saturday. One quarterback, Chance Nolan from Oregon State, could be intriguing.
Nolan is six feet two inch pro-style quarterback out of Menifee, California. He has been sitting in the portal since it opened originally in December of 2022.
Nolan, a junior, is the one player on this list that could move the needle for a larger school. He has fifteen games as a starter under his belt, which is experience that would be welcomed on a lot of teams. He has thrown 270 completed passes over the last two years for over 3,000 yards. With that came 26 touchdowns to 18 interceptions and an average quarterback rating of around 140. He also added 286 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. The caveat here is that bulk of that came the season before last.
