Potential Auburn vs Alabama Battle for Top Quarterback Recruit
College football recruiting has many twists and turns. It’s also a reason the sport is so closely monitored by numerous fanbases like Auburn and Alabama.
Case in point, 2025 quarterback recruit George MacIntyre is one of the nation’s best recruits. Despite being only a junior right now, some believe he’s as good an overall quarterback as there is for the 2024 or 2025 classes.
MacIntyre has a top 10, and both Auburn and Alabama are on his list. How ironic, yet typical, that Auburn and Alabama are going after a big-time recruit. According to On3, he’s trimming his schools list to include the Tigers and Crimson Tide, as well as Georgia, Florida State, LSU, Oregon, Michigan, Tennessee, UCLA and FIU.
The 6-foot-5 and 190-pound MacIntyre plays for famed Brentwood (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy, a program that’s constantly producing FBS-level talent.
Some of MacIntyre’s best attributes would be accuracy, maturity beyond his years when under pass rush pressure, and one of the smoothest passing deliveries one will see. He’s also a capable runner, when he decides to take off. Here’s a video further breaking down MacIntyre’s talents:
Considering Auburn is truly looking to bolster its quarterback depth chart to add to the talent that 2024 quarterback Walker White provides the Tigers, and Alabama’s quarterback depth chart is under construction beyond starting quarterback Jalen Milroe, a recruitment like MacIntyre’s could be pivotal for Auburn and Alabama.
That’s what college football rivalries are all about. Battling on the gridiron, as well as in the recruiting realm. Keep an eye on MacIntyre, he’s a big-time prospect.
