Auburn chose to go with Hugh Freeze after an exhausting coaching search this past winter.

There were a number of names thrown out during the search that the Tigers could have landed - most notably Lane Kiffin - but another name made the rounds online as a potentially massive hire; Jackson State's Deion Sanders.

Although Auburn chose Freeze, could we still see Sanders end up coaching in orange and blue in the future?

Andrew Holleran of The Spun recently released an article detailing three different "big schools" that could try to hire Deion Sanders.

Ohio State, Florida and Auburn were the three schools listed by Holleran.

"Auburn is in Year 1 of the Hugh Freeze era, though the Tigers are off to a 3-2 start," Holleran wrote. "If the Tigers have another disappointing season or two, would the program consider a change?"

Despite a 3-2 record, Hugh Freeze and Auburn seem to be trending up off of the field. The Tigers currently have two five-stars committed to their 2024 class, with a top-20 ranking overall. If the recruiting continues, its hard to believe the on field product won't underneath Freeze and his staff.

Hollern continued his argument, explaining that the possibility of seeing Deion Sanders compete against Alabama head coach Nick Saban in the Iron Bowl for Saban's final few years with the Crimson Tide would be must watch.

"Nick Saban appears to be in his final seasons at Alabama, but it would be so fun to watch him coaching against Deion Sanders in the Iron Bowl, wouldn't it?" Holleran speculated. "Sanders has made it clear he has a ton of respect for Saban, though he clearly doesn't fear him, either."
