According to the Locked On Auburn podcast, there is a possibility that Robby Ashford could win the starting quarterback job for the Auburn Tigers.

Podcast host Zac Blackerby and guest Mike Gittens noted on a recent episode that while some fans think he could win the job, they do not think he will. The main areas of improvement for Ashford are accuracy, consistency and leadership.

To win the starting quarterback job, Ashford will need to improve his accuracy. Blackerby and Gittens emphasized the importance of accuracy in the SEC and how it can make or break a quarterback's career.

Up until this point in his career, Ashford's completion percentage is a mild 49.2% - good for last in the SEC last season.

In addition to accuracy, leadership is also a crucial factor in winning the starting quarterback job. Throughout the episode Blackerby and Gittens mention that leadership matters so much that it might even hurt a player's chances of being the backup. Ashford will need to show that he can rally the team behind him and embody the qualities of an SEC quarterback, even as a backup.
