Michigan/Colorado EDGE rusher Taylor Upshaw enters the transfer portal

Auburn could use his playoff experience at the JACK position

Taylor Upshaw, a former 3-star recruit that measures out at six-foot-four 255-pounds, is a senior out of Bradenton, Florida, and has declared his intentions in the portal again. He Transferred out of Michigan, after playing in the playoffs, to Colorado in January. He is another casualty of Deion Sanders’ atrocious player management style. This is another one of those quality players that has left the program that makes one wonder how much of a problem there is at Colorado.

Upshaw made 38 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 1 force fumble, and 1 interception during his career at the JACK/EDGE position with the Wolverines. He has the size and experience Auburn needs at the JACK position in Ron Robert’s defensive scheme. There have been a few talented edge position players entering the portal this Spring, none with more big game experience than Upshaw.

Auburn has offered one edge, Issac Ukwu out of James Madison, so far this portal. This could be another nice addition if Auburn wants to shore up its quality depth. Keep checking in with Auburn Daily for updates and who ends up in the Auburn family.

The Tigers have now had five players depart from the program within the last couple of weeks, including three backup linebackers:

Wide Receiver Tar'Varish Dawson

Defensive lineman Jeffrey M'ba

Linebacker Kameron Brown

Linebacker Desmond Tisdol

Linebacker Powell Gordon

Auburn has pulled in an impressive haul thus far during Hugh Freeze's first season on the Plains, currently sitting at No. 3 nationally in 247Sports' transfer portal class rankings.
