Could former Auburn QB Bo Nix finish top 10 all-time in passing yards?
Bo Nix is legitimately close to solidifying himself in college football record books among some of the greatest to ever do it.
The former Auburn quarterback threw for 7,251 yards during his three seasons at Auburn. That's third all-time in Auburn history.
He threw for 3,593 yards in his first season at Oregon, giving him 10,844 career passing yards. That ranks 89th all-time in college football history.
If he replicates his first season with the Ducks again in 2023, he will have 14,437 yards. That would place him at No. 9 in all-time career passing yards in college football history, passing Colt Brennan.
Some notable quarterbacks Nix would have passed up on his way from No. 89 to No. 9:
Peyton Manning - No. 70
Patrick Mahomes - No. 66
Geno Smith - No. 53
Russel Wilson - No. 51
Drew Brees - No. 49
Jared Goff - No. 37
Derek Carr - No. 24
Colt McCoy - No. 17
Philip Rivers - No. 15
Just to name a few.
He's one repeated performance away from being top 10. He's 2,000 yards away from being top 25.
There's a very good chance the former Auburn signal-caller finds himself amongst great company in the record books come January 2024.
