247Sports picks upset wins, upset losses on Auburn football's 2023 schedule

Auburn is one of the most volatile teams in college football.

The Tigers win games "they shouldn't," lose to opponents that "aren't nearly as good," and overall cause chaos in the SEC.

The 2023 season should feature a very open SEC west, giving not just the Tigers but all teams in the division opportunity to turn the standings into a blood bath.

BamaOnLine of 247Sports recently released an article looking at 2023 SEC football upset possibilities. Article author Kirk McNair shared his opinion on the most possible upset win and loss on every SEC team's schedule in 2023.

According to McNair, the Auburn Tigers' most likely upset win is over Texas A&M just four weeks into the year.

"Some chastised me last year for predicting Auburn to be 6-6 overall and 2-6 in the SEC, and I’ll admit to being only partially right. AU was 2-6 in the conference, but only 5-7 overall. As for this year with a roster that was left depleted by Bryan Harsin, the jury is out on the Tigers. We’ll go with the upset win at Texas A&M Sept. 23, upset loss to Vanderbilt Nov. 4 just when the Tigers’ ship seems to be righted en route to bowl eligibility."

McNair also goes onto say that Ole Miss' best chance of getting an upset win will likely come at Auburn, but chose a win over Texas A&M as the Rebels' upset victory.

He also details his thoughts on Vanderbilt being Auburn's most likely upset loss.

"This may be a wild one, but just as Auburn has had a high degree of success at Texas A&M, the Tigers have sometimes struggled against Vanderbilt, and so we’ll go with the VU upset win against AU on Nov. 4," McNair wrote.
