Texas wide receiver Brenen Thompson has entered the transfer portal, per On3.

Thompson, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound freshman receiver from Spearman, Texas, appeared in nine games this season for the Longhorns. He only caught one pass for 32 yards vs Texas Tech.

He's a former four-star and a top-75 prospect (top 130 on 247Sports' composite rankings).

Here's what 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks had to say about Thompson coming out of high school:

"Lean, athletic build... Comfortable catching the ball out of the backfield and in downfield scenarios... Displays great run-after-catch ability. Shows some slippery functional strength above his weight in those RAC opportunities. Athleticism and ball skills to play receiver, all-purpose back, or cornerback at the Power Five level... Given athleticism and varied positional background, ceiling could be high with potential to be a multi-year impact starter and NFL Draft prospect."

Auburn football has seen three players officially depart this week, with Tar'Varish Dawson announcing intentions to transfer early Saturday morning.

Dawson joins the following Auburn Tigers that have announced that they will be in the transfer portal.

Defensive lineman Jeffrey M'ba

Linebacker Kameron Brown

Linebacker Desmond Tisdol

The Auburn Tigers have pulled in an impressive haul thus far during Hugh Freeze's first season on the Plains, currently sitting at No. 3 nationally in 247Sports' transfer portal class rankings.
