Former Auburn point guard predicted to land in Big Ten

Auburn's backup point guard from a year ago might be heading to the Big Ten.

Auburn has lost a handful of guards to the transfer portal so far this offseason, including both of their point guards.

Tre Donaldson and Aden Holloway both hit the portal after the 2023-24 season and are looking for new schools to call home.

Some were hoping that Holloway's leaving might bring Donaldson back to Auburn, but it sounds like he is heading north. Donaldson just received a crystal ball to land in the Big Ten playing for the Michigan Wolverines and newly hired head coach Dusty May.

Losing Donaldson hurts the Auburn Tigers as he could have been a high-volume scorer had Auburn's offense not run through Johni Broome and Jaylin Williams last season. In a new system where he will be able to shoot the basketball more, it would not be a surprise to see Donaldson become a star in college hoops.

Assuming Donaldson does land at Michigan, the Wolverines are getting a talented guard who can run an offense at a high level and shoot.

On a Michigan Blog page, a fan had this to say about Donaldson and Holloway, "He's visiting Michigan on the 19th and apparently already has been crystalballed to Michigan by Travis Branham. Branham is pretty reliable. Donaldson makes a lot of sense for Dusty's offense. He's 6'3" 200 lbs G who is very athletic. He's a blur on the floor and has some shooting chops (41% at low volume). I can't imagine Holloway and Donaldson committing to the same school. Donaldson is a better fit for May but Holloway has higher upside."
