Baylor Falls to Canada in Second Game of GLOBL JAM, 69-67

Keyonte George leads way again with 19 points as United States drops heartbreaker

The Baylor Bears men’s basketball team came up just short in game two of the GLOBL JAM on Wednesday night in Toronto, falling to Canada 69-67.

Baylor’s loss on Wednesday drops the United States to 0-2 in pool play with one game remaining before Saturday's semifinals — a matchup against Brazil on Thursday, July 7 at 1 p.m. Central Time.

Keyonte George once again led the way for the United States with 19 points and three assists, as the NBA-bound Baylor freshman shined on both ends of the court on Wednesday night.

Baylor men's basketball tweeted an image of George and the Bears prepping for game two in Toronto.

Baylor's Jalen Bridges added 13 points and seven rebounds for the United States while Flo Thamba led the Bears on the boards with eight rebounds.

The United States held a slim 35-31 halftime lead over Canada as both teams swapped leads numerous times in the first half.

Baylor led 47-41 heading into the final period of play; however, Canada outscored Baylor 28-20 in the fourth quarter to secure the home team's win.

Both teams were almost identical in multiple stat categories, with the United States shooting 31 percent from the field (30 percent for Canada), 27 percent from beyond the arc (25 percent for Canada) and 81 percent from the free-throw line (73 percent for Canada).

The biggest difference came on the boards, as Canada out-rebounded the United States 54-39.

Baylor returns to the hardwood for the final game of round-robin action against Brazil on Thursday, July 7 at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN-Plus.
