'No Game Is More Important Than Our Next Game' Says Bears DL TJ Franklin After TCU Loss

Despite losing two straight games, TJ Franklin and the Bears are looking to end the season strong against Texas.

Last Saturday the Baylor Bears were within seconds of pulling off the upset over undefeated TCU and spoiling its playoff hopes. Then, a last-second field goal saw Baylor's upset bid fall short in a 29-28 loss.

No, there are no moral victories in football but that doesn't mean there isn't a reason to be positive after the loss, with defensive lineman TJ Franklin acknowledging how the Bears bounced back from their loss to Kansas State.

"I was super proud, honestly," Franklin said. "All year we've been trying to fight to get to that point, because we knew what we were capable of doing. Of course, it didn't end the way we wanted it to, but that comes with football."

"Sometimes you don't get the outcome you expect. We kind of got to where we were clicking on all levels like we've been expecting to do all year."

Now, with the Bears coming off a 31-3 blowout loss to Kansas State followed by a 29-28 heartbreaker to TCU, Franklin believes the Bears are prepared for their finale against Texas.

"I've mentioned this many times before, but no game is more important than our next game," Franklin said. "So we always try to put the past in the past and just focus on the next week."

With one game left in the regular season, the Bears will look to avoid ending on a three-game losing streak. If they can put the last two games behind them then they are well equipped to end the season strong with a road win against Texas.
