Former Heisman-winning quarterback and Baylor star Robert Griffin III has caught fire as one of ESPN's best young football commentators. He's had countless viral moments on the air over his time at the network, but this one takes the cake.

In the third quarter of a college football playoff semifinal between TCU and Michigan at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl, Griffin III was manning the sideline on one of ESPN's many auxiliary broadcasts of the game.

Just as the Horned Frogs scored to take a 41-22 lead, Griffin III picked up his cell phone to take a call.

"What are we doing?" one of his counterparts muttered into the microphone. "We're in the middle of the game?"

Griffin III responded emphatically, "Sorry, guys, I gotta go. My wife is going into labor." His wife, Grete Griffin, was ready to deliver Robert's fourth child.

So off he went, showing off his still impeccable speed as he ran out of the stadium. For those wondering how his day went from there, Griffin III was quite open about the experience via Twitter.

But the saga gets even crazier. Griffin III ran out of the playoff game, hopped a last-minute flight and made it to his wife just to receive the news of a false alarm. Grete herself took to Twitter for updates of her own.

After all of that madness, Robert Griffin III still only has three children. His fourth is hopefully on the way soon, and we can only hope that Griffin III will be live on the air for Georgia and TCU's national championship when it happens.
