Puka Nacua has broken an NFL record in the first two games of his NFL career. On Sunday, Nacua broke the record for the most receptions in by a rookie in his first two games with 25 receptions. The previous record was held for 43 years by Earl Cooper who set the record as a San Francisco 49er in 1980. Cooper tallied 19 receptions in his first two games. Anquan Bolden approached Cooper's record in 2003 when he tallied 18 receptions in his first two games.

Nacua is also the first player in NFL history to have 10 receptions and 100 receiving yards in each of his first two games

Nacua has been Matthew Stafford's top target for the Rams. In two games, Nacua has been targeted more than 30 times. Against the 49ers, Nacua has 15 receptions for 147 yards.

In the opening weekend, Nacua finished with 10 receptions for 119 yards in a 30-13 win over the Seahawks.

Nacua was one of the top stories in the NFL last week. Nacua, a fifth-round selection out of BYU, has filled in for Cooper Kupp while he nurses a hamstring injury. Kupp is expected to miss the next few weeks, so Nacua will likely continue to get a lot of targets in September.

Even when Kupp returns, Nacua will play a key role in the Rams offense. He has earned the trust of veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford and he is proving to be one of the best rookie wide receivers in this rookie class.
