Former BYU Linebacker Kyle Van Noy Signs Extension with the Baltimore Ravens

On Thursday, former BYU great Kyle Van Noy signed a two-year extension with the Baltimore Ravens. Van Noy has been in the league since 2014 with five different organizations. At the start of the 2023 season, Van Noy was at home without a contract and it looked like his NFL career might be coming to a close. Then he was signed by the Baltimore Ravens after week three and he had one of the most productive years of his career.

In his tenth year in the league, Van Noy racked up a career high nine sacks and he had another nine quarterback hits. He also added 30 tackles including 9 tackles for loss, 4 PBUs, and 2 forced fumbles. He was part of a Baltimore defense that was one of the best in the league.

The Ravens will likely be the last team that Van Noy plays for in the NFL. The 2024 and 2025 seasons will be his eleventh and twelfth years in the league, respectively.

You can make the argument that Kyle Van Noy was the best defensive player in BYU history. To say he did a little bit of everything in a BYU uniform would be an understatement. He did a lot of everything, and at a very high level. He was incredibly durable, playing in every game from 2010-2013. He finished his BYU career with 226 tackles including 61.5 tackles for loss. He had 25 career sacks, 11 PBUs, and 4 fumble recoveries. He also had five defensive touchdowns.
