BYU Makes the Cut for Four-Star Quarterback Luke Moga

On Tuesday, Arizona quarterback prospect Luke Moga trimmed his list of schools to six and BYU made the cut. Moga also took the opportunity to announce that he will make his college decision later this month on April 28th. Moga is a four-star recruit according to ESPN.
The Cougars are finalists alongside Oregon, Miami, TCU, Michigan State, and Arizona State. Moga, who has been on BYU's campus multiple times to visit, received an offer from BYU back in December. At the time, BYU was just the third school to extend him a scholarship offer. After BYU offered, Moga received over 20 competing offers. Some notable schools that missed the cut are nearby Arizona, Utah, Cal, Oklahoma State, NC State, Virginia, and Purdue among others.
At 6'2, Moga is a true dual-threat quarterback. He is one of the fastest quarterback prospects on the West coast, but his running ability is secondary to his throwing ability. Moga has a strong arm that can beat you over the top, and he also possesses the velocity to fit passes between linebackers and safeties. Moga is a nightmare to contain when he escapes the pocket. The threat to run is always present, but he will stay patient and wait for opportunities downfield.
Moga trains with fellow Arizona native and current BYU quarterback Kedon Slovis.

Adding Moga into the fold would jumpstart the 2024 recruiting class. Moga would be the highest-rated quarterback to commit to BYU since Jacob Conover in 2019. Adding him to the pipeline would go a long ways in securing the future health of the quarterback position in Provo.
