Granger Athlete Carson Su'esu'e Commits to BYU

On Wednesday, Granger High School quarterback Carson Su'esu'e committed to Kalani Sitake and the BYU football program. Carson, who is listed at 6'5, played the first three years of his high school career in California at De La Salle High School. Su'esu'e held competing offers from Tennessee, Pitt, Utah, Arizona, Utah State, UNLV, and Hawaii among others. Su'esu'e took official visits to BYU and Utah State before committing to the Cougars.
De La Salle runs a run-heavy offense with triple options principles. Therefore, Su'esu'e's opportunities to showcase his complete skillset were limited. When Su'esu'e had the chance to throw, he was often designed to be on the run or outside the pocket. Su'esu'e will have the opportunity to play in a new offense this Fall. He moved to West Valley where he will play his final year at Granger High School.
Su'esu'e is an excellent athlete with great size. If he doesn't play quarterback, he could end up at tight end or on the defensive side of the ball.
As a quarterback, Su'esu'e has ideal size and he has a strong arm with a quick release. He can squeeze throws into tight windows and he can make plays with his legs. Physically speaking, he has a high ceiling as a quarterback, although his ceiling might be even higher on defense. BYU will bring him into the program then decide the position that best fits his skillset.
Su'esu'e is the eighth player to commit to BYU as part of 2024 recruiting class. He joins Siosefa Brown, Ryner Swanson, Dallin Johnson, Enoch Watson, Adney Reid, Jett Nelson, and Thomas Prassas.
