On Sunday, Arizona quarterback prospect Enoch Watson shut down his recruitment and committed to BYU. Enoch, the younger brother of 2022 signee Pierson Watson, is the first quarterback to commit to BYU in the 2024 recruiting class. We caught up with Enoch to discuss his BYU commitment.

After taking a visit to BYU last week, Enoch decided to commit to the Cougars. "After I visited BYU last week, I just knew I was gonna commit and I wanted to say it," Watson said. "So I called the coaches and let them know I was all in...it's a dream really, it's a blessing for me."

On what was the core reason behind his decision to commit to BYU, Enoch said, "The staff. I love Coach Roderick. I love Coach Kalani. They want the best for players on the team and BYU overall. It's the brotherhood and that's why I wanna play [for BYU]."

Enoch has been in touch with Coach Roderick since his freshman year. "Our relationship is really good," Watson said on his relationship with BYU's offensive coordinator. "I've known Roderick for probably three to four years now and he's always talking about everything. He's always just asking me how things are going and he wants the best for me."

Enoch plans to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after high school. He hasn't decided, however, whether he will leave straight out of high school or after one year at BYU. "It's still up in the air," Watson said on his enrollment plans. "I'm definitely going to go on a mission. I just don't know if I'll take a year, go to BYU for a year and then go on my mission, or go on my mission right out of school."

With one year of high school remaining, Enoch will turn his focus to his high school season at a new school. "I think the main goal for me at this new school is to go win a championship and for me personally, I want to show people what I can do and control an offense."

Since his family recently moved from Flag Staff to Queen Creek, Enoch will suit up a new high school this Fall: American Leadership Academy. ALA is coached by former BYU legends Ty Detmer and Max Hall.
