Three-Star Athlete Blake Lowe Sets BYU Official Visit

On Friday, three-star athlete Blake Lowe announced that he will be taking an official visit to BYU. Lowe, a California native who preps at Chaparral High School, will visit campus next week when the Cougars host the Oklahoma Sooners at Lavell Edwards Stadium. He also confirmed that he was re-offered by the new defensive coaching staff.
Lowe is a long, physical player that is listed at 6'3 and 195 pounds. He could end up playing a few different positions at the next level including safety and linebacker.

BYU was the first school to offer Lowe a scholarship back in May of 2022. Since then, BYU turned over its defensive coaching staff. Blake has been in touch with the new defensive staff since they were hired, but it wasn't until Friday that the new staff extended him a scholarship offer. In his recruitment, Lowe has received competing offers from Arizona, Washington State, Boise State, San Jose State, and Air Force among others.
This won't be Lowe's first time in Provo. Lowe has been on BYU's campus multiple times for unofficial visits. He also came to BYU's camp last Summer where he won the linebacker MVP award.
Since Lowe has invested so much time and energy taking visits to BYU, the Cougars could have the inside track to a commitment should they make him a priority.
Lowe just wrapped up a really impressive senior season where he racked up over 100 tackles and 3 interceptions. He displayed his physicality, his tackling prowess in space, and his high-level instincts. He also played wide receiver where he tallied 450 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.
The BYU-Oklahoma game will be a great environment. It's the first time in program history that BYU will host the Sooners and the game has been sold out for a few months.
