Darrian Beavers Becomes Eighth Bearcat Selected in Record-Breaking NFL Draft

The linebacker is headed to the Big Apple along with Ahmad Gardner.

CINCINNATI — Great to be No. 8.

The New York Giants selected Darrian Beavers with the 182nd pick in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The rangy linebacker should be an ace special teamer right away with the Giants and has all the modern tools to be a starting NFL player. Beavers is the eighth Bearcat selected in this class—as the program continues adding to its record-breaking total.

According to ESPN, the eight draft picks are the most of any Group of Five school since at least 1990 when the Houston Cougars had seven. As of this writing, only Georgia (11) has more selections in this draft than Cincinnati.
