Desmond Ridder Selected by NFC South Team in Third Round of 2022 NFL Draft

CINCINNATI — Desmond Ridder is NFL bound. The Atlanta Falcons picked the Bearcats star with the 74th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Ridder, 22, finished 44-6 as a starter in four seasons at the University of Cincinnati. He completed 62.1% of his passes for 10,239 yards, 87 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

"Listen, I won’t lie. I knew going into the draft process I would have my skeptics," Ridder wrote this week. "They exist everywhere, on everyone. I know that people have their opinions and question marks about me as a player. And I know those question marks won’t necessarily go away, even after I get drafted — there’s going to be a whole new set of challenges in front of me once I get to the NFL. I know that, but as I said: I welcome that. The challenge of it, that’s what excites me most about this game."
Now he gets a chance to prove people wrong in the NFL, which is something he did during his four years at the University of Cincinnati. Ridder is staying in the Red and Black.
